Interview with GlitchDick conducted by DubstepRemix.org on August 2nd, 2011.
1. Lets start off with the easy A/S/L?
im a 40 year old tranny from honolulu hawaii
2. When did you first hear about Dubstep, and what inspires you when producing it?
i first heard dubstep by rusko while i was searching for random shit on youtube, saw him playing live and fell in love with it, been producing dubstep for about 7 months now
Whats the dubstep scene like in the Big Pineapple (Honolulu)?
the dubstep scene out here is not huge but the kids who listen to it are fucking elitist and are fucking awesome, they give me the best constructive criticism ever and i don't think i would even be anywhere i am right now without them praising and criticizing my work.
3. What kind of music do you listen to yourself?
i listen to everything, in every genre, but my all time favorite shit is probably crystal castles, kanye west, the misfits, saves the day, yeah yeah yeahs, the xx, a lot of that emo and indie bullshit as well.
4. Where do you see your career going in the next few years?
im looking to just keep doing what im doing right now, writing music and releasing it, hopefully people like my shitty music and they wanna give me money or sex for it, hahahahha only time will tell i guess.
5. What would you say to aspiring producers?
well i got to engineer on the last 2 kanye west and kid cudi albums, so all the producers who worked on those albums definitely have a strong influence on how i work now. of course skrillex is the best shit out there so yeah i wanna be like him too hahahha.
6. If you weren't making music, what other goals in life would you like to pursue?
mannnnnnn i have been doing music my whole life so i really cant see myself doing anything else, if i could do anything else i guess it would be to open a bakery and have it be a venue for music at night, that shit would be dope.
7. Lastly, how did you come up with the name GlitchDick?
haha people always ask me that, i just wanted something so fucked up and make you hate me before you even listened to me, that way when you listen and like my shit and possibly like it, i just took you from one corner of your mind to the complete opposite in less than 1 minute, how many people can really do that?
